Nyamira Governor John Nyagarama has formed a committee that would programme how the county’s Garissa College massacre victims will be helped.
Addressing journalists in his office, Nyagarama promised to support those families financially to help them continue with their lives.
"The team I have formed will meet the affected families so that they can offer help to them," said Nyagarama.
According to the committee chairman Douglas Bosire, who is also Director of Health in the county, said the two bereaved families would be supported financially to facilitate their loved ones' burial.
Bosire asked residents to support the affected families to enable them recover from the trauma they are in.
"The government has been supporting the families with food and we will still support them to bury their loved ones. We want to see them strong again and going on with their daily activities as usual,” notes Nyagarama.
Among the 148 who died in Garissa attack were two students from Nyamira County. The two Josephine Onyancha from Sironga village and Susan Onyinkwa from Gesima Ward.
