Either Nyamira Governor John Nyagarama or West Mugirango MP James Gesami will miss in the ballot come August this year due to tough election laws, concedes political analyst Gideon Mamboleo.
Under the new election laws that prevents party hopping, none of the two candidates will shift to a new party should he lose in gubernatorial party primaries.
The two have understandably submitted their nomination papers in Orange House for party primaries and one of them will have dream cut short after nominations.
“The election laws particularly on party hopping are very tough. They will affect several candidates across the country not just in Nyamira,” he said.
“Nyagarama and Gesami will see one of them fail to make it to the ballot because they have both submitted nomination papers in ODM. The moment they go for nominations, one of them shall bolt out,” he added.
Sources indicate that the two leaders have deployed strong teams that are in charge of ODM membership registration ahead of March primaries.
