Nyagarama’s regime has been under immense criticism in the recent past from a section of county residents who blame the county government over a number of impassable roads.

However, the Nyamira County boss on Thursday defended his record and challenged his critics to ‘traverse’ the county and make evaluation before critiquing him.

“My government has been able to gravel over 400KMs of roads and that is evident in our wards. I have always put road infrastructural development on top of my priorities because we are an agricultural county,” he said in a local radio station, Egesa FM interview.

“Those criticising me are far from reality because most of our roads are passable courtesy of the work being done by the county. They should perhaps traverse the county and see the work that has been done instead of relying on rumours,” he said.

He said the county government through the County Assembly had identified 200KM for further graveling in the 2016/17 budget.

“It’s my wish also to see all our feeder roads passable. I want to thank the County Assembly for identifying 200KM to be graveled in the next financial year. I want to see over 600KM done before we go for elections,” he added.

Nyagarama challenged his critics to give his government alternatives by having dialogue as a way of reducing political temperatures.
