Nyamira governor John Nyagarama says he supports merger of political parties.
In a phone interview with this writer on Wednesday, Nyagarama said political parties have every right to merge since it is their supporters who have the final say on whether or not to support such outfits.
"The Jubilee affiliate parties have their right to do whatever they want. Cord also has the same right because, at the end of the day, it is the people who join those parties and if they do not like one, they will go to another," said Nyagarama.
Nyagarama further said political parties mergers have been witnessed in developed economies in the world thus it is not a new thing to be witnessed in Kenya.
"Many countries in the developed world have two major political parties and that is the emerging trend in Kenya so Cord and Jubilee must organise themselves in their own way and I wish them well," added the county boss.
