Nyamira Governor John Nyagarama has revealed that he is a keen follower of social media conversations despite not being a fan of smartphones.
Nyagarama has never interacted with his followers on WhatsApp, Facebook or even twitter, a side from some accounts understandably controlled by people closely associated with him.
During a recent address to a group of youths from the county, the Governor made shocking revelations that his wife, First Lady Naomi, was a social media addict and reports to him every morning on conversations powered on such forums by county residents.
“I am not that analogue as many of you thinks. I always follow what happens in social media platforms and that is a reality. I know what you people discuss there,” he said.
“I have employed my girl ( First Lady Naomi) to monitor what happens on social media platforms. She always briefs me every morning and we implement some of your suggestions all the time,” he added.
Social media platforms have been very indispensable in the South Nyanzan County and were recently lauded by Prof Ondigi Abaya who hailed the spirit of users in helping to transform lives of the poor in society by making their plight public.
