Youths in Nyamira County have dismissed claims that Governor John Nyagarama paid them to stop a protest against the planned Kikao 046 where ODM leader Raila Odinga will be the chief guest.
These remarks come after a section of youths threatened to demonstrate against kikao 046 in Nyamira County saying the forum is a waste of public funds.
Speaking to journalists on Monday in Nyamira town, the youths led by Evans Makori said Raila is the father of the devolution and there is no way they can protest against his visit to the region.
They denied claims that they have been paid to stop the protest they planned to stage on December 2, and said there were no such plans for demonstrations.
“We have not received even a single cent from Governor Nyagarama and we had no plan to protest against Kikao 046 where Raila will be chief guest ,” added Makori.
“Kikao 046 is for the youths' benefit and we call upon them to turn up in large numbers to learn more about issues that concern them,” he added.
