Nyamira Governor John Nyagarama’s recent Cabinet reshuffle has been ridiculed as ‘recycling’ corruption by a section of his competitors eyeing the seat in 2017.
On Friday, Nyagarama moved Jones Omwenga to the finance docket from the education department which will now be headed by Dr Janet Komenda who was in the roads ministry.
Kepha Osoro was moved to roads while former finance executive Reuben Sinange was moved to the environment docket.
And now West Mugirango MP James Gesami led the onslaught accusing Nyagarama of recycling corruption, maintaining that Komenda and Osoro deserved a sack based on their ‘wanting’ track record.
“I am shocked that someone can continue recycling corruption. We have been having issues in the roads department and other dockets as well. Instead of the Governor sacking the relevant ministers, he has instead reshuffled them,” he said.
“The reshuffling is meaningless to Nyamira residents because the same individuals whom they have been having issues with were retained. This means that the Governor still has confidence in the same people who are tainting his regime,” added Mr Walter Nyambati, chairman of the Jomo Kenyatta Foundation.
Mr Charles Mochama on his part challenged MCAs to re-evaluate the integrity of a section of the Executive committee members and send those with issues packing.
“The Governor could be myopic on the issue but MCA s should help us to tame the corrupt individuals who have been immune for all this time. That is the only time Nyagarama will wake up,’ he said.
