Nyamira Governor John Nyagarama has called on leaders from Gusii land to form one political party to spearhead the community’s interests.
The governor made the announcement during a live interview on Egesa FM at Viongozi hall on Friday.
"We need to unite in order for us to have bargaining power in any of the government to come so that our interests as a community are catered for," said the county boss.
The Gusii community has been lagging behind for not speaking in one voice as they bargain for the national cake as individuals and not as a community.
Nyagarama also urged the community to be united, live in peace and harmony amongst themselves and other communities as well as and maintain respect to leaders.
"Let's maintain respect for our current leaders, maintain peace within ourselves and other communities and most of all let's unit in whatever we are doing and uplift Gusii to the next level",said Nyagarama.
