Nyamira county government will not be opening new county and feeder roads for two years. According to Governor John Nyagarama, the county will instead focus on revamping the existing roads in an effort to improve transport.
Nyagarama made the remarks on Tuesday during a roads inspection tour in Bosamaro which is being undertaken by Mechanical Trust Fund.
"Two years from now, the county will not be opening new county or feeder roads because we have constructed roads that were to take five years to be done," said Nyagarama. Nyagarama also added that they have done a third of the roads across the county and they will continue to constructing the remaining ones this financial year."For those coming years we will be tarmacking some of the roads and revamping others because opening of new roads would have ended this financial year," added Nyagarama.
