Nyamira Governor John Nyagarama has denied claims of corruption and nepotism that have riddled his government.
This comes after West Mugirango MP James Gesami who has declared interest in the county governorship post openly criticised Nyagarama over corruption.
In an exclusive interview on Sunday, Nyagarama accused Gesami of insincerity, terming his move as a ploy to seek support from the electorate.
" I think Honourable Gesami is not sincere in his claims and is only using such to gain political mileage," said Nyagarama.
He further challenged Gesami to explain to the electorate on how he intends to utilise the CDF funds for the FY 2016-2017, yet he has already shown interest for the county top job.
"Instead of Gesami criticising me over corruption, he should man up and explain to Nyamira people how he intends to utilise the CDF kitty for the year 2016-2017 because we fear that he might use money meant for developmental projects in funding his campaigns," added Nyagarama.
