Nyamira Governor John Nyagarama has asked his critics to allow the county government to do its job.
Nyagarama said the critics should instead wait for the next general election for the electorate to decide and gauge the progress his administration has made in the county.
Speaking at Maaganga during the burial of the late Akisa Nyamoko, brother to Nyamira County Assembly Speaker Joash Nyamoko, the county boss faulted a section of elected leaders and aspirants seeking various posts in next year's election for inciting residents by spreading falsehoods about his government.
“Those who are opposing us, I challenge them to wait until next year's elections for the residents to give their scorecard. Let’s stop cheap politics of telling people wrong information,” Nyagarama said.
He cited the street lighting project which he stated had helped improve security and rehabilitation of roads as among the milestones the administration had made and wondered why his critics are misleading residents.
"Lets us give room for development first as we wait for the time to do politics. Also, leaders should stop using youths for their own political gain. Let us uphold respect for one another because the county belongs to all of us,” Nyagarama.
