Governor John Nyagarama of Nyamira believes his competitors may have little to complain about following his massive road construction programme across the county.

Nyagarama had earlier this year cancelled all road contracts and instead diverted the resources to State-owned Mechanical Trust Fund (MTF).

And on Tuesday during a road inspection in Bosamaro ward, the Nyamira County boss challenged his competitors to come with more issue based politics rather than personal attacks.

“The major issue that we were facing was poor road network. Individual contractors were derailing the process until I cracked the whip and my competitors are shocked with the bold move I made which has certainly worked,” he said.

“They wanted to use the state of roads as a campaign tool and that is no more. I challenge them to engage in more issue based politics rather than attacking my character. I am working and my score card will give me the second chance. I think they have all reasons to be afraid,” he added.

The MTF machines are set to improve roads in Borabu constituency before finishing the exercise in Kitutu Masaba constituency later in October.
