Nyamira Governor John Nyagarama will Wednesday launch the Governor Mashinani initiative at Nyansiongo in Borabu sub-county as part of improving interactions with county residents.
According to a release from the county communication department, the move will enable residents to have ‘ample’ time to interact with top county officials to discuss development agenda.
“Today, the Governor will launch the Governor Mashinani initiative at Nyansiongo in Borabu sub-county, all residents are invited. The move aims at improving the relationship with residents by giving an open platform where social-economic interaction is possible,” read the statement in part.
“Development will be enhanced once locals have much more ample time to interact with county government and this is more of a public participation exercise. The Governor is committed to accessing his people,” added the statement.
The initiative will be done twice a month per sub county and Borabu will be privileged to host the first two inaugural initiatives.
“We have started in Borabu and each sub-county will have two similar exercises held per month. The forum will provide a platform for questions-answers sessions and will also be used as part of civic education on the functions executed by county governments,” read the statement.
The South Nyanza County has five sub-counties which include Masaba North, Manga, Borabu, Nyamira North and Nyamira South.
