Nyamira Governor John Nyagarama has vowed to continue delivering to the electorate despite mounting accusations from his critics and competitors.
Mr Nyagarama has been under immense criticism over his performance with a number of his opponents accusing him of doing little to improve the livelihoods of area residents.
But on Sunday, Nyagarama defended yet again his track record, insisting that his government will deliver all election pledges before the 2017 polls.
“I am aware of people who are pout to make me look an incompetent person but that aren’t the case. They have a right to critics but I want to assure them I won’t be detracted from what I am doing for my people,” he said.
“I have done my best in agricultural, infrastructure and even in education and many other sectors. Before we go for polls next year, I am sure that all my election pledges would have been fulfilled. The most fundamental thing is working for the people,” he added.
He accused unnamed opponents of allegedly ferrying goons to heckle him during President Uhuru Kenyatta’s visits to the area in late April this year.
”Some of my opponents have nothing concrete against me. They are just out to hire goons to make themselves relevant and actually did it when the president was around,” he added.
