Nyamira County Governor John Nyagarama has urged residents to give or sell land to the county or investors for investing purposes.
"I am urging the county residents to give their land or sell to the county or private investors for investing in order to create employment," said Nyagarama.
The governor was saying this on Wednesday in his office when the private investors came to sign a memorandum of understanding between them and the county in setting up a modern city.
He also added that the county government plans to develop the county, but they face a challenge due to lack of enough space.
"We have the urge of expanding this town from one street to upper town but we have been unable to due to land owners' denial to give or evacuate their lands," he added.
"We will pay for whoever who wants to give their land to us to set up new and modern infrastructure that will make the county develop," he said.
The governor said that Nyamira County does not have public land for any development to take place.
