A section of Nyamira residents have expressed their discontentment over how Nyamira Governor John Nyagarama was treated during the ODM rally in Mombasa over the weekend.
A group of boda boda operators who spoke to this writer on Wednesday threatened to demonstrate in their bid to get answers from the event organisers and the protocol officials on why Nyagarama was 'humiliated' among other governors who attended the function by being given an embarrassing chair.
"We wonder how our governor was directed to sit on a small chair in the midst of governors from this region. We demand to know who arranged his seat, was he not invited to the function or what? " paused Joshua Mong'are who spoke on behalf of the group.
Since then, the photo of Nyagarama seated on the "sambaza" chair has gone viral on social media and is being viewed as though the county boss was not treated equally like his counterparts.
But the governor's Personal Assistant Kefa Mocheche dismissed the claims that his boss was humiliated.
He instead said the governor arrived late at the function late and all the fronts seats had been occupied.
"The officials were forced to fix a seat which would fit in the little space on the governors' row," Mocheche told this writer on the phone on Wednesday.
