The advertisement indicated a number of projects that the county government has reportedly done since 2013.

However, leading gubernatorial aspirant Charles Mochama has dismissed the publication as ‘waste of taxpayers’ money’ and called for thorough investigations by EACC.

“I have seen a 13 paged advert and I am shocked that the county government can pay for advertisement of shambolic projects some of which are nonexistent,” Mochama said.

“This is a waste of tax payers’ money and I want to challenge Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission to investigate and prosecute some of top officials in the county government for publishing lies,” he added.

He questioned the 750 fish ponds allegedly supported across the 20 wards and facilitation of three dam public dams for fishing a part from questioning the amount of money allocated to two dispensaries which he said the input didn’t reflect the final outcome.

“They are talking of 750 fish ponds supported across the county which unfortunately isn’t the case. We also want to know these dams purportedly supported by them. I also want to know why some of dispensaries like Mosobeti and Karantini were allocated Sh7 million each but the work done doesn’t reflect the amount of money allocated,” he added.

He also demanded an explanation on a number of water projects which the county claims to have completed yet they were under scrutiny by County Assembly’s PAC.

"Some of the water projects like Rianyasimi were point of contention in the County Assembly and a lot of money is said to have been lost. These are scandalous projects they are publishing at the expense of taxpayers and they should be held accountable,” he said.
