The locals led by Obwocha Marubi said police officers have failed to end theft in the area despite the numerous calls from the residents.

Marubi said on Sunday night, armed thugs attacked a boda boda rider and stole his motorbike.

“We can’t continue living with criminals in society. It is time police officers to act or be moved from the area. There are lazy youths who have joined gang groups to eat from other people’s sweat,” he said.

Martha Moige, a trader in the area asked Nyamira County commissioner Isaiah Nakoru to intervene to ensure security officers conducts patrols 24 hours in the region.

“We have trust in the county commissioner and we are calling for his intervention so that the gang groups coming up in the area are flushed out to ensure people’s lives are protected and their properties,” she noted.
