Nyakach Girls are set to travel to London for a training and mentorship programme with Harambee Stars Captain Victor Wanyama.
Nyakach Girls football team, alias ‘Plateau Queens’ won the Chapa Dimba na Safaricom tournament.
On Tuesday, the girls were hosted by Governor Anyang’ Nyong’o for lunch at SunSet Hotel, Kisumu following their huge win.
Speaking during the luncheon, Nyong'o explained that the win had opened big avenues for the girls.
“With the win, the Queens also earned a once in a life-time opportunity to travel to London for training and mentorship programme with Harambee Stars Captain Victor Wanyama and a 1 million cash prize,” he said.
The Plateau Queens hammered Tartar Girls 4-3 on post-match penalties to win the Chapa Dimba Na Safaricom tournament.
