Support Uhuru-Raila handshake, MP pleads Kenyans

 Nyali MP Mohamed Ali has asked Kenyans to support President Uhuru Kenyatta and  ODM party leader Raila Odinga and other leaders as they seek to unite and reconcile the country.

Ali says that it is time Kenyans stood together and fought negative ethnicity.

Speaking to journalist's at Parliament Building's on Monday, the former Investigative journalist said that the steps taken by President Uhuru Kenyatta and Raila Odinga need support.

The MP stated that the country’s push to achieve development can only be realized if Kenyans are united.

“Kenyans must come out and offer their support to President Kenyatta and the former prime minister as they embark on unifying the country,” he said.

The MP warned politician's trying to sabotage the unity talks, saying that the interests of the country are much bigger than theirs.

He claimed that that certain forces are unhappy with Uhuru-Raila handshake and are working hard to sabotage it.

Ali asked Uhuru and Raila to ignore critics and continue with their resolve to push for a united country.

He also asked Uhuru and Raila o reach out to all leaders and stakeholders as they seek to unify and reconcile Kenyans.

Uhuru and Raila have been under attacks for delaying the unity process a month after their famous handshake.

Some politicians have been quoted claiming that the handshake was not genuine and did not represent the interests of Kenyans.

However, sources intimate that the unity and reconciliation process will be rolled out soon as the teams working on the strategies are finalizing their work.

Sources further intimate that Uhuru and Raila will embark on a nationwide tour to preach unity among their supporters.
