Nyali Member of Parliament Hezron Awiti has urged Mombasa residents to shun ethnicity and instead foster nationhood and unity.
Speaking on Friday at Freretown Primary School, during his extensive tour of CDF projects in Nyali Constituency, the legislator asked the residents to shun dangerous stereotyping and reject those who thrive on it, as it hampers the region from developing and excelling in different sectors.
“We need to do away with tribalism and religious divisions and unite as a region and as a nation. We should celebrate our cultural diversity,” said Awiti.
"I urge Mombasa to rise above tribal, religious and sectorial affiliations and come together as Kenyans," added the MP.
