Ali says that it is unfair for politicians to be engaging in 2022 campaigns when they are yet to deliver the development pledges they promised Kenyans in last year’s general election.

Speaking when he inspected development projects in Nyali Town on Monday, Ali accused politicians of taking Kenyan’s for granted.

He said that it is barely a year since the last general election and politicians are busy campaigning for 2022.

“As elected leaders we must set out priorities right and work for the people who elected us to office instead of championing our own selfish interests,” the former investigative reporter said.

The MP warned that the country is likely to plunge into early election mood if 2022 succession politics is  not put to an end.

He pleaded with Kenyans to ignore politicians campaigning for 2022.

The MP also asked Kenyan’s to demand for services from their leaders and initiate process of recalling those who will continue to engage in early campaigns.

The 2022 succession politics is gaining heat as politicians seek realignment and endorsement.

The succession politics has been catalyzed by the ongoing handshakes and the unity deal between President Uhuru Kenyatta and the former Prime Minister Raila Odinga.
