The former investigative journalist wants Joho to use his popularity to bring the Coast community together.

Ali says that disunity among Coast politicians has negatively impacted the region’s development.

Speaking when he inspected development projects in Nyali Town on Monday, Ali said the region will continue to lag behind in terms of development if elected leaders fail to unite.

Ali at the same time said that he is ready to reconcile and work with Governor Joho.

The MP said he holds no political grudge against Joho, adding that he wants to reconcile with the county boss and others leaders for the sake of development.

He noted that disunity among leaders in Mombasa is hampering development.

“I am ready to reach out to Governor Joho so that we can burry out differences and work for the people,” he said.

The lawmaker further asked Joho to forgive him if he wronged him in any way during last year’s general election.

Ali and Joho have not been seeing eye to eye with the former journalist accusing the Governor of allegedly masterminding his fall during the ODM party nominations in the run-up to last year’s general election.

The MP claimed that Joho rigged him out in the nomination in favour of his cousin Said Abdalla popularly known as Saido.

Ali has also been at the forefront of criticising Joho, accusing him of lacking the leadership qualities to steer Mombasa’s development agenda.

The MP recently bashed Joho’s plan to contest for the presidency in 2022, saying that the Governor doesn't have the qualities to be president.
