Walter Nyambati says he will ensure President Uhuru Kenyatta wins in Nyamira County despite the region being projected as an opposition stronghold.
The former Kitutu Masaba MP who is eyeing Nyamira governorship on Jubilee ticket is spearheading presidential campaigns in the region.
Already, Jubilee strategists have earmarked both Kisii and Nyamira counties as tossups despite opposition’s claim that the region remains intact in NASA.
“There is a perception that Nyamira is in NASA. I want to remind you people that things do change and that are the case,” he said on Wednesday.
“As Jubilee team, we are keen to deliver for the president. We have put mechanisms to neutralize NASA and completely lock it out,” he added.
In 2013, Uhuru lost to Raila Odinga in the region with the latter scooping over 70 percent of votes and are yet again set to wrestle on August.
Nyambati, who has been chairing JKF, is challenging Governor John Nyagarama who won ODM certificate in a race that has also attracted a host of aspirants.
