Nyamira County governor Hopeful Walter Nyambati has promised to prioritize education sector if elected as the new county governor in the next general election
According to Nyambati, the sector has not been supported by the county current leadership over the last for years and promised to revive the sector if elected and will be fully supported under his leadership.
Nyambati accused the current county governor John Nyagarama for not supporting the sector through bursary funds to both secondary and college level students.
“Nyagarama has not been distributing bursary funds to students this is the only year 2017 that he has set a side money for bursaries and only for secondary students to gain political mileage, but he has to tell us where he has been this long with this money,” said Nyambati.
“I will make sure all students gets bursary funds across the county every year to promote education,” added Nyambati
He promised to construct standard village polytechnics across the county to train those who are willing for applied courses to create their future.
