Jomo Kenyatta Foundation chairman Walter Nyambati insists that the Jubilee government will beat the Opposition Cord ‘hands down ‘in the 2017 general election in the vote rich Gusii region.
This comes barely a day after Kitutu Masaba MP Timothy Bosire declared the region a Cord zone accusing Jubilee government of sidelining the region in matters development.
And now Mr Nyambati in a phone call on Wednesday, defended the Jubilee administration's development record in the region saying residents were ‘tired’ with political rhetoric from the opposition politicians.
“The Jubilee government has tried to improve roads in our region and ever since the President (Uhuru Kenyatta) visited the region, our health facilities are now being upgraded given the huge amount of money diverted to the sectors. It’s unfair to say that nothing has been done,” he said.
“Jubilee is very popular in this region and my take is that we will beat our rivals hands down. The government is doing great things to our region and my take is that the few remaining issues can be sorted out before elections. Cord is a forgotten thing in Gusii,” he added.
Nyambati challenged members of the Abagusii community to re-elect President Uhuru lauding him as visionary leader ready to develop all parts of the country without prejudices.
