Nyambunwa village residents in Kisii County are now shying away from buying roadside milk due to increasing cases of farmers adding water in their milk.

Speaking to this writer, residents claimed that some milk hawkers from the area were diluting their fresh milk with water to maximise quantity which translates to profits.

Florence Maobe, said most local consumers are shying away from buying fresh milk hawked at Eburi-Itibo market.  

"Some hawkers are adding water in the milk hence messing with the quality," said Maobe. 

Agnes Monayo one of the fresh milk hawkers from the area, concurs that it is true that some milk hawkers are adding water in their milk to make more profit.

Monayo said that the move has contributed to negative attitude by majority of the milk consumers hence making them not to by their milk.
