Tabling the bill in the House on Tuesday, nominated MCA representing youth affairs in the assembly Naomi Ondieki, said there was need for policies to be put in place to regulate the sector.

"We recognise that there has been a sharp rise in insecurity partly caused by incidents involving commercial motorcyclists as well as increased cases of reckless riding by the boda bodas, I  therefore urge this honourable House to adopt this bill," urged Ondieki.

ODM nominated MCA Zipporah Osoro said the policy should be put in place so as to put a ceiling on the age limit of youths supposed to issued with driving licences.

"Mr Speaker Sir the more reason why we should have a policy to defend our people from being involved in accidents caused by reckless riding is by identifying which criteria to be used in issuance of driving licences to the riders," added Osoro.

The House finally adopted the bill which now is awaiting assent by Governor John Nyagarama to become law.
