Nyamira County Assembly Special Select Committee that was formed to investigate on how the new enforcement officers and support staff conduct their duties has given them a one-week ultimatum to report to their work stations.
According to the chairman of the an adhoc committee that had been tasked to inquire the conduct of the new employees, Beautah Omanga, the new employees have one week to report to on duty or risk being replaced.
"There are these support staff who were given appointment letters by the county government a month ago but haven't reported to work to date, and as a select committee, we have given them one week to report to work or otherwise their positions will be filled," said Omanga.
The Bogichora ward MCA said the county assembly has further sealed employment of more enforcement officers.
"The assembly has decided that there will be no more employment of enforcement officers and that chapter should be closed until next year," added Omanga.
