Nyamira County Chamber of Commerce and Industry chair Joseph Misati Gesore has congratulated Justice David Maraga over his nomination for the post of Chief Justice.
Gesore also termed Maraga's nomination as historic to Gusii people for being the first man to rise to the top seat in the Judiciary from Gusiiland.
"Justice Maraga's nomination is historic since the Gusii community has never had a senior appointment as such and thanked the Judicial Service Commission for doing an exemplary recruitment which was not discriminatory on grounds of tribal affiliation," said Gesore.
He added that the interviews were an expression of how free and fair the recruitment process was, and urged the MPs to exercise the same integrity.
"This is a show that there was no bias in the exercise. This is how other appointments need to be done," said Gesore.
He also urged all leaders to follow in the steps of Maraga of shunning corruption.
