Nyamira County government will hold its third Miss Tourism beauty pageant in November after failing to conduct the event last year.
Speaking to journalists in his office on Wednesday, county executive committee member for Trade and Tourism John Omanwa said the department of Finance and Economic Planning has in the 2016-17 financial year allocated Sh5 million for the event.
He said the previous budget had not factored in the competition, making the county unable to conduct it.
"We have been allocated Sh5 million for the beauty contest and we plan to hold it in November," he said.
The beauty contest was last held in the county in 2014. The winner represents the county at the Miss Tourism national competitions.
Everline Arasa is the current holder of Miss Tourism Nyamira County.
