The county government of Nyamira through the ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Fisheries has promised its farmers of high quality seedlings and fertiliser.
"We will make sure that we as the department of Agriculture will produce good products to our clients, and this is a promise," said Edward Ondigi, chief officer in charge of the ministry, who was speaking from Meru County where he is attending counties annual devolution conference.
"We are given fertilisers that are not of high quality, for example last year, we were given this fertiliser that killed our crops yet our ministry is not taking any action over the issue," said one farmer from Gesoro village, Bosamaro chache location.
Ondigi has promised and vowed to take action towards those who might be selling fake fertiliser to the county farmers.
"Through my docket, I promise the farmers that we will take an action to whoever who sells fake products to our farmers without fear or favour of any nature," he added.
He also urged the farmers to buy genuine seedlings from government seedlings sellers and the recognized dealers and not from any person.
