Nyamira County Governor John Nyagarama has set up a special committee that will look into the welfare of the victims of the Garissa University College Terror Attack to ensure that those affected get help.

Addressing the residents at the county assembly grounds, the governor condemned the attack that claimed the lives of two students from the area while several suffered injuries. .

“We have formed a committee that will ensure that all affected families are helped,” said Nyagarama.

Present during the address was the chairperson of the special committee Douglas Bosire who is also in charge of the health docket in the county.

He said that they have sent an officer from the county to Nairobi to follow up on the actual number of students in the county that were schooling at the university.

“We have already confirmed that two lost their lives that is, Susan Onyinkwa from Gesima and Josephine Onyancha from Sironga Wards,” said Bosire.

He said that they are planning to hold a fund drive to aid the affected families and called on the residents to support the initiative.
