Keroka traders have accused the county government of Nyamira of being slow in solving matters arising at Keroka market once they raise alarm for help. This comes after the traders protested early this week claiming that the county government has sidelined them with regards to maintaining cleanliness in the market although they are still collecting taxes from them.
Speaking on Thursday to this Hivisasa writer during a follow up, some traders accused the county government for not taking their issues seriously.
Grace Nyanchoka, a trader who sells clothes said that they always raise the alarm when issues arise but that no one listens to them.
“Since I started my business here at Keroka even before devolution government, I expected a change since the county government is near us unfortunately the situation here is worse before,” said Grace.
Traders added that it is better for the county officials to visit them to address the issues affecting them rather than keeping quite assuming that traders are well served by the government.
