Nyamira County government Roads minister Janet Komenda has assured residents that her department has put measures in place to ensure roads in the region are rehabilitated in time.
Addressing journalists after flagging off the Mechanical Trust Fund machinery for the road works in her office early Tuesday, Komenda said the county government hired the machines to fast-track projects.
"I am very happy today after flagging off eight tippers, three excavators and three graders from MTF which I hope will help us fast-track road projects," said Komenda.
She added that the machines were hired at a cost of Sh150 million from the MTF.
"We have been having challenges on road projects due to slow pace of the contractors but now I assure our people that the machines are new and the men behind them are ready up to the task," added Komenda.
