On Tuesday, members of Gesima Enterprise youth construction company that had successfully applied for construction of Nyaronge ECDE classes said the tendering process was genuine and complied with the constitutional requirement.

They said the county leadership has been working closely with the youths and persons with disability since they were not discriminated against in tendering at the county level.

“I am happy that as youths we can apply and win a tender. I can prove that we the county leadership is ready to work with us, especially when it comes to giving tenders to deliver some items,” said Peter Oturi.

“The county has followed the constitutional and legal requirements pertaining tendering because we know of some youths, whether in groups or as individuals,” added Alex Omiti.

They urged youths who have been crying foul over discrimination to do so after carrying out enough survey that can help them substantiate the claims against the county government.

“We hear of some youths condemning the county government over discrimination. Surprisingly though, many of them does so without sufficient evidence. It will be proper if they carried out a research to support their claims,” said Hezron Onduko.

They asked the youth to apply for tenders whenever the county government advertises, besides emphasising that the tenders were offered on a fair and transparent manner.
