On Tuesday, Mr. Charles Onsomu threatened to sue Ritibo buying center management on allegations that they had fraudulently acquired land title deed for the piece of land where the buying center is built without paying him the agreed amount.

He said his title deed has never been asked for, for the processing of the new title deed as a matter of precedence and wondered where and how they had acquired one.

“I have a right to go to court and I will seek court order to close the buying center till the issue is resolved. They were to pay me 200,000kshs as the balance before processing the tittle deed and I wonder how they acquired the new tittle deed,” Mr. Onsomu said.

“They must be arraigned in court to answer those critical questions because I think the law is being violated by some land officials in Nyamira,” he added.

However, buying center’s chairman Isaac Amisi dismissed the claims and challenged Mr. Onsomu to give evidence on fraudulent registration at the land’s ministry.

“We followed the law and we can’t allow someone to drag us behind. There is no existing agreement between us and him and we are ready for his threats,” he said.

However, the stalemate may affect tea farmers if the plaintiff succeeds to have the court order imposed on the management.
