The county government of Nyamira has been urged to set aside a place for mother's to breast feed their babies.
Speaking at the county headquarters on Monday the county medical director Dr Jack Magara said that August is a breastfeeding month and so the county should set aside a room for mothers to encourage them to feed their children.
"The county should set aside a place for the breastfeeding mums for then to breast feed the young ones for this month is for breast feeding," said Dr Magara.
He spoke Monday at the county headquarters during the flagging off of medical equipment donated by the Global Fund through the Kenya Red Cross Society.
The director further urged mothers in the county to breastfeed their babies to boost their immunity from diseases.
He also decried the low uptake of that maternal health services by women yet the services are free.
