A Nyamira court has sentenced a middle-aged man to 15 years imprisonment for allegedly defiling a girl aged 15 years in Itibo village, Nyamira North District.

Appearing before chief magistrate Eunice Nyutu, the defendant was found guilty of defiling a minor on 19/9/2014 at Itibo village, after being assisted to undress the girl by someone who did not appear before court. 

The defendant's plea to have the court acquit him for being a widower with four children to take care of fell on deaf ears as he was handed 15 years in prison.
