Speaking during the funeral at Mekenene village on Monday, the family condemned the heinous act and demanded that the police bring the culprits to book.

The deceased, Willis Okemwa, a class seven pupil at Nyaronde Primary was found dead in a nearby forest with his mutilated body already decomposing.

According to the father, Kennedy Okemwa, his son might have been taken forcibly out of his room without their knowledge before he was executed by his assailants.

“There is no where we can get justice if not from the government. Our child has never wronged any one, nor has the family wronged anybody. We want to know the truth behind the killings,” said Okemwa.

“He was in good health and had even taken his supper before they did the unimaginable to my son. I strongly believe that the perpetrators can be found if indeed the government wants to help,” he added.

Pathologist examination had indicated that the deceased might have been suffocated before he was hit with a blunt object and later on succumbed to his injuries.

Mourners threatened to hold peaceful demonstrations in solidarity with the family, a move that was opposed by area Chief Willis Ogega.

“Investigations are underway and we cannot allow people to demonstrate over an issue we are pursuing,” he said.
