Small farmer groups in Nyamira county are set to rip big after receiving modern certified sweet potato seeds from the county first lady's initiative.
While speaking to this writer, some of the beneficiaries from the initiative that was started by the Nyamira county’s first lady Mrs. Naomi Nyagarama said that they have already prepared their lands and are looking forward to planting before the rains disappear.
Duke Basweti, a farmer in Konate in Nyamira South Sub county said that he has already received the certified seeds from the initiative and that he will ensure that he makes good use of them.
He thanked Mrs. Nyagarama for starting up the initiative that will see them rip big also because they are currently being assisted by area agricultural field officers to ensure that they plant and maintain them well.
Led by one of the team member Gladys Nyakerario, the group thanked the first lady for helping farmers in Nyamira to acquire seedlings that will see their production increase.
