Nyamira County gubernatorial aspirant Charles Mochama has applauded the Omogusii unity.
Speaking on Sunday night on Egesa FM, Mochama said he fully supports calls to unite the community.
"I personally recognise and support the 'Omogusii unity' which is being spearheaded by Kisii County Senator Chris Obure and deputy governor Joash Maangi for uniting the community," said Mochama.
He, however, said the unity was supposed to be championed by Gusii elders who were to rally all leaders in spite of their party affiliations to a common agenda.
"The unity was supposed to be spearheaded by the elders from both counties and all leaders, starting with elected leaders, aspirants and also religious leaders to give them directions," he said.
He also added; "The leaders were to form political, social, economic and development teams aimed at fostering the economy in the two counties," he added.
Mochama also said that as much as the community wants bargaining power in the next government, the leaders should come up with an agenda that will help improve residents standards of living and not for their own interest.
