Nyamira Governor John Nyagarama has warned Ekiendege community in Kitutu Masaba constituency who have encroached on Ekiendege football grounds of impending massive demolitions if they don't vacate.
Nyagarama said they want to make the field a modern stadium and that is why they are asking those who have encroached the land to vacate and give the constructors ample time.
“Public land will always remain to public property and people must keep off,” the Governor said.
The Governor also reiterated that his government will restore all public land that is in possession of land grabbers.
He said all parcels of land that had been set aside for public amenities are well known to the residents and the County Land Commission is in the process of compiling reports to ensure ownership is established.
“Time for corruption and land grabbing must come to an end in Nyamira County, we want a clean regime,” he assured the residents.
Ekiendege ground was used by the county on Friday during the governor's cup final tournament.
