Nyamira Governor John Nyagarama has come out to warn medics who might be stealing drugs from public hospitals.
During a phone interview on Thursday morning, Nyagarama said that he will take stern action against medics who are said to be engaging in such acts.
"I will not seat and wait for our dispensaries and hospitals to run out of drugs simply because someone somewhere is stealing drugs to enrich themselves, let them be warned," said Nyagarama.
Nyagarama further urged residents to keep vigil on any medics they may be suspecting to be involved in such deals.
"I challenge loyal residents of this county to be vigilant and report on any cases of people they may be suspecting of stealing drugs from public hospitals," noted Nyagarama.
This comes after some medical facilities in the county were hit by drugs shortage two months ago.
