Speaking in Nyamusi Division grounds on Monday during celebrations to mark World Food Day, Nyagarama noted that the county's population and that of the country at large was growing very fast, hence the need to produce more food to feed them.

Nyagarama further said the new farming methods will also help mitigate climate change effects and save them from frustrations of job losses.

He called on them to work harder to produce more and earn more.

"The climate as you realise is changing and so you (residents) should not tire but adopt new farming techniques so that you are not frustrated," he said.

"When the climate changes, the poor are the most affected, why can't we take agriculture to the next level?"posed the county boss.

This year's theme was 'Climate is changing, food and agriculture too. The world celebrates world food day on every 16th of October annually

Nyagarama has urged the residents to embrace new farming techniques to cope with the changing climate.
