Nyamira Governor John Nyagarama's wife, Naomi has told politicians to keep off politics at her functions.
Speaking Saturday when she attended prayers for Valerie Kerubo a student at Uchuni Girls School who is set to undergo eye surgery at PCEA Kikuyu Eye Hospital, Naomi recalled an earlier incident at Nyamira Catholic Church where West Mugirango MP James Gesami declared his candidature for the Nyamira County governorship in the forthcoming elections.
But the First Lady said she won't entertain politicians at her functions aimed at helping the poor.
"I ask all politicians to go to Governor Nyagarama's functions and play politics there, I am not happy with what you politicians are doing at the functions I organise," said Mrs Nyagarama.
Politician John Kebaso who is seeking the post of MCA for Bosamaro ward had criticised the county government of sidelining the ward in terms of employment, something that the First Lady didn't take lightly.
"Which chief officer do you want and even Alice Manoti is here and comes from this ward?" posed Mrs Nyagarama.
Alice Manoti is the county Roads Chief Officer and was present attended the event.
Manoti urged politicians to champion projects that will help Nyamira people other than doing politics in church adding that the county government is not biased when it comes to employment opportunities.
Over Sh1.1 million was raised during the event.
