After spending several days receiving treatment at Kenyatta National Hospital where she was taken ill, Public Service and Youth Principal Secretary Lillian Mbogo Omollo was on Wednesday taken back to Lang’ata women prison.
Omollo is facing corruption charges following the disappearance of Sh8 billion from NYS.
A section of Nyamira politicians have reacted saying Omollo should stop pretending to be sick yet she is among the suspects who have stolen money.
“Omollo should be in remand with the rest. The issue of her being admitted at the private wing at KNH is unacceptable. The government should have no mercy on thieves,” said Victor Swanya.
He said Omollo should be in the cells until the case before the court is heard and determined.
ODM party treasurer Timothy Bosire accused PS Omollo for pretending to be sick saying she must face the full force of the law.
“We didn’t see her in hospital when she was in office. How comes she is sick now that she is facing corruption charges? It is good the government has known her tricks and took her to Lang’ata prison where she belongs,” he noted.
The vocal politician said the prison officers should give a deaf ear to the NYS scam suspects and ensure they are in the cells throughout until their case is heard and determined.
