A section of Nyamira elected leaders has demanded an unconditional apology from President Uhuru Kenyatta to one one of their sons Chief Justice David Maraga after the Head of State and his team bashed the top judge following last Friday ruling that nullified his re-election.
Led by Nyamira county Senator Eric Mogeni, the leaders Governor John Nyagarama, MPs Ben Momanyi (Borabu), and Vincent Kemosi (West Mugirango criticised Jubilee on their recent spat on the Supreme Court judges.
"The president should be the last person to cast aspersions on the Supreme Court for nullifying his win. Uhuru must respect the constitutional principles of separation of powers," said Mogeni.
"We remind Uhuru and Ruto that they are a product of the Supreme Court decision of 2013 that affirmed their election," he added.
Omogeni said the utterances by Uhuru calling Maraga and his team 'Mkora' sets a bad example to the public and thus he should withdraw the statement immediately.
"If the common mwananchi is seeing their own president castigating judges of the higher courts and calling them names, what do you think they will do?" asked Mogeni.
Nyamira governor warned Uhuru and his team that they should not expect any vote from the county.
"We will teach him (Uhuru) a lesson and show Jubilee that we also know how to vote. They will know this about Nyamira," said Nyagarama.
