Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) leaders from Nyamira County are set to meet on Friday ahead of Raila Odinga’s visit scheduled December 2nd.
The meeting will set a platform for the leaders to iron out their differences with the county leadership and create mutual working relationship.
According to Finance County Executive Jones Omwenga, the county government is ready to curb confusions which might emerge during Odinga’s visit.
“As county government, we have invited all leaders elected on ODM ticket for a consultative meeting this Friday. This will set a platform for us to iron out our internal differences,” read his post on Nyamira Kikao 046 whatsap group.
“We want our youths to get the best out of the summit and that is why it’s necessary for us to meet. I am hopeful that they will attend,” he added.
Differences between the county elected MPs and Governor John Nyagarama took centre stage when Raila toured the region in June this year.
MPs Timothy Bosire (Kitutu Masaba), James Gesami (West Mugirango), Charles Geni (North Mugirango) and Alice Chae (Nyamira County) have been critical of Nyagarama’s leadership for years.
Odinga is set to address thousands of youths from the county on matters relating to entrepreneurship and youth employment.
