Residents of Bogichora ward in Nyamira County have continued to pile pressure on MCA Beuttah Omanga to complete Bogichora-Mokomoni feeder road that he initiated months ago.
Speaking to HiviSasa.com on Wednesday, the angry residents accused the MCA of delaying the construction despite the heavy rain that have rendered the road impassable.
According to them, the outspoken former majority leader in the Nyamira County assembly should have set aside enough funds before the commencement of the project.
“It is quite sad that we have to endure this difficult situation in terms of transportation due to poor road network. The ongoing rains in the region have made the road impassable and this has impacted negatively on our farming,” said Paul Nyangena.
“The MCA should have not initiated the project in the first place if he knew that it would stall. We are only safe in sunny day like today. He has to expedite the completion of the project,” added Mary Moraa.
However, Mr Omanga pleaded with the residents to give him time as he pursued county government to complete the project.
“It is not my fault but I have spoken with the county government to allocate more funds for the contractors to finish their job. It will be fundamental if I am given a little more days to ensure all is in order,” he said.
